CEO's Message
We are very encouraged by the data supporting the development of Welichem's lead drug candidate, WBI-1001, for the therapeutic treatment of psoriasis and eczema. This is the forerunner of a pipeline of different drugs targeted against autoimmune/ inflammatory diseases.
Our talented scientific team has identified and researched the properties of a group of compounds that have existed in nature for millennia, but only recently has it been possible to understand how to isolate, synthesize and administer these compounds as targeted pharmaceutical drugs. Encouraging results arising from the rigorous formal testing and recent clinical trials of WBI-1001 remind us of the exciting prospects of bringing more effective and safer therapeutics to sufferers of psoriasis and eczema. Preliminary results have indicated also that another Welichem drug candidate, WBI-2100, has very good potential for the treatment of selected cancers while simultaneously suppressing neutropenia. We are now focused on discovering the molecular targets of this unique capacity.
One of the Company's top priorities is to establish strong strategic alliances with companies that can help it accelerate the path of development of our new drug leads from discovery through to delivery and commercialization.
With the commitment and support of management and staff, I firmly believe that Welichem will be able to play an important role in the curing of autoimmune/ inflammatory diseases and cancer in the foreseeable future. After becoming a public company, Welichem has remained focused on creating value for its shareholders. We are committed to a strategy of timely and effective communication to shareholders and the investment community. We look forward to keeping you informed of our progress in addressing unmet health care needs.
